I have been an active Developer & Builder in Crystal Beach since 2009 and have built well over 60+ homes on the peninsula. In October 2018 I was awarded Sales of the Month for my Broker Firm. My hobbies include my children & grandchildren, soccer, baseball, fishing & hunting. I also enjoy riding my Harley on weekends and I have also participated in over 9 5K runs this year. As a Contractor of Landscaping and Irrigation for over 40+ years, I also was a contractor for swimming pools and builders for over 20 years as well. This has given me the knowledge of all aspects of the building industry and ability to answer any questions a client may have without having to use the common response "I will have to get back to you on that," since I have the knowledge base on all levels of building. I have always had a deep interest in the real estate industry and always wanted to be a Realtor throughout life. Now my dreams have begun to also start helping my clients start their dreams with a home they desire.

I moved to Bolivar Peninsula in 1961, when I graduated from high island high school. I began my career in real estate in 1985 and purchased Swede’s Real Estate in 1995. Being a lifelong resident of the Bolivar Peninsula, I have distinguished myself as a leader in real estate and community development. I am a member of the Galvestion Association of Realtors, and in 2009, was honored by the National Association Realtors with the Resort and Second Home Property Division Distinguished Service Award. As an involved member of the community, I am a graduate of the 1999 Leadership Southeast Texas and now serve as a member of the Galveston County Beach Erosion Taskforce. I love my community and stay involved. I am currently the President of Bolivar Peninsula Chamber of Commerce-1st vice president Bolivar Peninsula Lighthouse krewe- board member arbortorium nursing home Winnie Texas- graduate leadership southeast Texas 1999-board member partnership of Southeast Texas 1999- memberof Galveston county Erosion Task Force- recipient of Business Leadership Award from the star day foundation-citizen of the year award from Bolivar Peninsula 1992-and Swede’s Real Estate Business of the Year in 1999. My spare time is spent giving back to the community that I feel is the greatest place in the state of Texas.

Mark DeSantis discovered the unique beauty of the Bolivar Peninsula during the summer of 2018 and decided to make Bolivar his permanent home. Mark and his wife Jody built their dream beach home on the Peninsula with the talented Cobb Home Construction Company and aptly named it "No Regrets".

Mark is very active in the Bolivar community serving on the Texas Crab Festival Charities Board, The Bolivar Peninsula Water Board and his neighborhood HOA Board. Mark and Jody have 5 children and 4 grandchildren that keep them busy. They love hosting friends and family at the beach, showcasing the beauty and charm of the Peninsula. From the world renowned bird sanctuaries, wide beaches, fishing the Gulf, and the historic Bolivar Point Lighthouse, the Bolivar Peninsula is a special place to call home.

Prior to Bolivar, Mark's career as a sales executive and his experience buying and selling his own homes in multiple states launched his passion for real estate. As an active investor in real estate, from home renovations, new construction, to long & short term rentals - Mark has experienced it all. Mark brings his sales negotiations skills, attention to details and real estate knowledge to his clients - always with the goal of making their real estate dreams a "No Regrets" reality.

I am a native of Beaumont, Texas, having graduated from Monsignor Kelly High School and Lamar University. After moving to Houston, I spent 33 years as a corporate paralegal working for a privately owned group of companies in the oilfield and chemical manufacturing business, during which time I was involved with many acquisitions, one of which was a year-long, multi entity, multi real property, $2.25 billion transaction. I took my legal real estate transactional knowledge and experience and jumped to the other side of the table and began representing buyers and sellers on the Bolivar Peninsula. Growing up, Crystal Beach was "our" beach. Both sets of my grandparents owned property on the Peninsula since the early 1950s. I have seen many, many changes over the years, but what remains constant is the charm of the area, the community spirit and the resilience of the residents. Who says dreams can't come true? My love of the beach began as a child when the main question each summer was "When are we going to the beach?" My family stayed in the then new Emerald Beach in an open concept without A.C. and a good distance from the beach. We thought it was heaven. Being raised in Dallas, the pace here was a welcome change. When I met my husband, Gary, I introduced him to Crystal Beach and our plans began. We bought our first house in 1994 and named it "DreamCatcher" because we were sure we could catch our dream of moving here full time. We moved here in August 2003 and can now call Crystal Beach home.

After our experience with Hurricane Ike in 2008, I have learned a lot about the rebuilding process and the codes. I will be happy to share what I found out and where to look for the answers to your questions.

Since starting my career as a realtor in the late seventies, I have loved working with people the most.
