Growing up the granddaughter of a builder, real estate was a natural next step for Monica after she retired from a successful career as an appellate attorney. Monica graduated cum laude from Dedman College of Law (Southern Methodist University) where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif, named a Hutchison Fellow (full merit scholarship), and was an editor of the SMU Law Review. She received her BA magna cum laude in Chinese History and Political Science from Colorado College and studied Mandarin Chinese as a PICAS Fellow at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor.



In her spare time, Monica likes spending time with her family and three fur babies. She enjoys Sudoku, Vinyasa Yoga, and attending performances of the Houston Grand Opera. Monica believes in serving her community and actively donates to Houston PetSet and various performing arts organizations.

A devoted wife and mother of two, I have a passion for travel, exploring new cuisines, and indulge in hobbies like shopping and crafting. As a Girl Scout troop leader, I live by the Girl Scout promise and motto "Be Prepared." My professional journey began in the medical field, where 15 years of patient care instilled in me adaptability and flexibility. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in History and a minor in Secondary Education, I spent a handful of years on visual merchandising, sales, and marketing teams in fashion, furniture, creative advertising, and commercial real estate brokerage respectively. My specialties include marketing properties and portfolios for lease and sale, representing tenants and landlords in their contract negotiations, acquisitions of new locations for business owners and assisting investors looking to add to their commercial real estate holdings. The changing economic landscape lead to my landing at HomeSmart and I enjoy being a commercial asset to the brokerage while expanding my residential real estate expertise.

Donna Kidwell

Donna Kidwell possesses more than 35 years of experience as a residential Realtor in Texas. In the course of her career, Donna has worked as a top producing sales associate, been the broker/owner of two real estate offices with more than 100 agents and staff, and personally purchased and sold multi-million-dollar residential and commercial investment properties.

An outstanding ability to empathize with her clients sets Donna apart. “I surround myself with a successful team who care about helping people with their real estate needs,” Donna says. “I understand the joy of helping people and I love challenges. I am very creative – good at thinking outside the box - and draw on many years of experience in this business to help my clients overcome any stumbling blocks and reach a successful closing.”

Donna has helped clients to purchase and sell properties throughout the greater Houston area including close-in traditional neighborhoods, particularly River Oaks; Galveston; and Fort Bend County where she listed and sold properties in Covey Trails, an aviation community. Donna holds the Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB), Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR), Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS), Accredited Home Staging Specialist (AHSP), and Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) designations.

Donna majored in Home Economics at the University of North Texas. Prior to her career in real estate, she taught school in Gainesville, Texas, and was a dietician at Seton Hospital in Austin. Currently, Donna serves on the advisory board of the partnership for Baylor College of Medicine and is a member of St. Luke’s Methodist Church, Petroleum Club of Houston, The Realty Investment Club of Houston (RICH), Space City Ski Club, and Explorers Club. She also participates with her husband in his alumni events for Cornell and Rice universities. When not working, Donna enjoys duplicate bridge, travel, and her family’s Galveston “get-away” house. She has two adult children and three granddaughters.
