Working with a Greenwood King Properties agent to purchase her first home in Houston convinced Erika Popma to follow the passion she'd always had for a real estate career. When growing up in Canada, Erika built a strong professional background in theater and modeling which drew her to live and work in New York City where she met her husband. When she and her husband moved to Houston after a few years, Erika decided to change gears and pursue her passion.

"The experience of working with GKP throughout that transaction was formative for me," Erika states. "I was surrounded by such professionalism and positivity that I was truly inspired. I now bring that same inspiration and motivation to every transaction for my clients."

Erika thrives in the fast-paced world of residential real estate and works with clients in all price levels and stages of their lives. "With sales, you gain from what you put in," she says. "Effort will always be rewarded and hard work will always pay off in the end."

Erika was born in London, Ontario and graduated with a degree in psychology from the University of Western Ontario. She volunteers for numerous activities at her children's school, and enjoys attending Broadway road shows, the Houston Symphony concerts, hockey games, and Texan football games.

Regarded by clients, friends and family as compassionate, hardworking, intuitive, and loyal, Katherine loves getting to know people and finding out what makes them tick. She possesses excellent organizational and budget skills, communicates effectively in a professional manner, and always makes customer satisfaction the top priority.

When Katherine made the decision to transition into residential real estate sales, she drew on her experience as a legal recruiter for a major downtown Houston law firm. My position at the firm included coordinating in-office interviews and planning and managing educational forums and social get-togethers, Katherine says. It was my responsibility to help the law interns make the best, most well-informed job decisions of their lives and that has translated well into assisting and guiding my real estate clients as they make life-changing decisions about where to live.

Katherine's first six months at Greenwood King Properties were spent learning the business from the ground-up as a floating assistant. Once she had completed that experience, she was ready to launch her career an agent.

A Native Houstonian, Katherine grew up in Tanglewood, graduated from St. John's School, and attended the University of Georgia. She currently resides in the Southgate neighborhood with her husband, Robert, and their twins, Chloe & Walker. She and her family spend lots of time in Rice Village and the West U area. Katherine also enjoys running, cooking, and traveling, and is a huge Astros' fan.

Michele Scheffer's defining career moment may have been the sale of her first "million dollar" home, but she has not stopped there. Michele grew up in upstate New York, where she attended Syracuse University. She then went on to work 17 years for a large jewelry chain, where she learned all the ins and outs of the industry as a buyer and regional manager. Many of the skills she learned while managing 18 different stores have only enhanced her real estate career. Furthermore, she has been a Greenwood King Top Producer for the last 19 years, and practicing real estate consecutively since 2000. The Houston Business Journal has honored Michele as one of the top 25 residential real estate agents for Houston in 2006.

Michele resides in Bellaire, with her husband. Her two grown children attend college at UT in Austin and Nashville, TN. She has volunteered many hours of service for West University Little League, St. Marks Episcopal school, Episcopal High School. Michele has been team Mom for many of the sports her children had participated in during their school years. During the years Michele has resided in West U & Bellaire neighborhoods.
