A sixth generation Texan, Sarah Hudgins' family was part of the first 300 American families to enter Texas. They later established the J.D. Hudgins Ranch, the largest American Grey Brahma ranch in the world. She was named State of Texas Citizen of the Year by the Texas DAR, and appointed as an Admiral in the Texas Navy by Govenor Rick Perry. She organized and had voted into law, four Texas Memorial Highways, and in 2023 , she received the Yellow Rose of Texas Commission by the Governor of Texas.
