John Daugherty, Realtors represents the vision, integrity and philosophy of the man at the top, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer and founder, John A. Daugherty, Jr. A third generation Houstonian, John Daugherty’s life has been intrinsically intertwined in the history and fabric of his hometown since his childhood. He grew up in the heart of River Oaks, the son of devoted parents who were actively involved in philanthropy in their city — and friends with the legendary first families of Houston through his father, John Daugherty, Sr.’s career as an executive in the oil-field supply business. The young John knew everyone as a child, teenager, then young adult during the late 1940s, 1950s and 1960s in Houston, from “Silver Dollar” Jim West to wildcatter Glenn McCarthy, as well as other kingmakers who shaped what would become the most dynamic, international and influential city in Texas.
Attending St. John’s School, Lamar High School and St. Thomas University, John Daugherty’s connections, sense of community and the deep relationships fostered since his childhood made real estate a natural career. He sold his first home in 1966, and nine months later in 1967 founded John Daugherty, Realtors. He developed and pioneered the modern concept of a professional residential real estate firm, earning an exemplary reputation under his leadership — one based on teamwork, service and empowering agents to represent Sellers and Buyers with unwavering integrity, as well as the ability to confidently broker the most storied, and high profile, homes in Houston. To this day, more than 45 years after its founding, his company, John Daugherty, Realtors, is known as the undisputed king of the double-digit, million-dollar listings. The company’s niche is wide and deep in the Bayou City’s most extraordinary neighborhoods — River Oaks, Shadyside, Rice University/West University/Bellaire/Medical Center, Tanglewood/Briargrove, Memorial/Spring Branch, Briargrove Park — and expanding.

Native Houstonian Linda Ricca's professional portfolio includes a 20-year-plus, wide-ranging career of significant accomplishments within the health industry. Prior to becoming a Realtor, Linda earned a nursing degree from Houston Baptist University, practiced as an ICU nurse in the Texas Medical Center, transitioned into healthcare technology services and consulting, and finally moved into sales and executive oversight.
According to Linda, the dynamics of that previous career - managing multiple, detailed projects and providing guidance and counseling to families, clients and consultants - are similar to managing a real estate transaction. "In consulting, there were always new systems and processes to learn and new projects to develop and manage, as well as new clients and people to meet and assist, just as there are in real estate sales," she says. "There's also a strong emotional element present in both fields that requires caring, sensitivity, and understanding."
Linda uses her communication, service and financial skills to understand each client's unique situation and goals. A successful, proven business leader, she has a keen understanding of complex contracts and possesses the expertise and confidence to guide clients through their transactions from start to successful finish. "I am proactive and positive and continuously search for opportunities to learn more and share with clients what I learn so each transaction is better than the last."
Houston's traditional inner-Loop and near-Loop neighborhoods - Bellaire, West University, Tanglewood, Museum District and close-in Memorial - encompass the major areas where Linda sells. In addition to drawing on her innate knowledge as someone "born and raised in Houston and Sugar Land," Linda employs a wealth of valuable experience gained from working closely with her former husband, a residential builder, on many of his projects. "That exposure to the intricacies of home construction now helps me to assess a property's strengths and weaknesses and communicate that information to my clients. It also helps me explain inspection reports and contractual issues."
When not selling real estate, Linda is an officer on the Baylor College of Medicine Partnership Board and serves as Landscaping Lead for the Indian Circle Home Owners Association. Her leisure time includes traveling or at least getting away to the country whenever she can to spend time outdoors. Linda loves spending time with her daughter and son-in-law who live in LA and her son and daughter-in-law who live in Austin.
