Emelie Mavligit brings a native Houstonian's outlook and understanding of the city and its residents to her career in real estate sales with Compass Real Estate. Growing up in West University, Emelie has a close attachment to the neighborhood and the neighborhoods of Houston proper.
Graced with an outgoing personality, Emelie is a go-getter who is at the same time extremely meticulous and organized. A previous, 10-year career in marketing, public relations and event planning honed her communications skills and gives her excellent marketing savvy and an enviable list of resources to call upon. "I am very service oriented and enjoy being a concierge for my clients," Emelie says. "I have also worked in the oil and gas industry for several years and have an excellent grasp of the economic impact any change in that sector has on the city and how it translates to the housing market."
While juggling a full work schedule, Emelie finds time to give back to the community. She volunteers for HOPE, Houston's Homeless & Orphaned Pets Endeavor, the American Cancer Society, and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.
Emelie attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts for dance as well as Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. She received a BA in communications, with an emphasis in public relations and marketing, from the University of Houston.

A detail-oriented, technologically-savvy self-starter, Emily Vidor Porter began her real estate career with a plan. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Emily was on track for law school but soon realized she needed to change course. "I worked for an oil and gas law firm and quickly realized that a desk job was not for me," she says. "I knew it was time to make a different plan that got me out of the office and interacting with people. I signed on as an agent-assistant at Greenwood King Properties in 2013 and learned the business from the ground up!"
After four, very intense, years learning from and working side-by-side with top producers at GK, Emily became an agent without missing a beat. "I saw from the very beginning that this would be a life-long career I would grow with as the years go by. I also learned that no matter how much knowledge one has, long hours and dedication to clients and excellent service are non-negotiable components for success."
As a native Houstonian, Emily has an established network of sellers and buyers in the West University area where she grew up, and has expanded that core client base to now include most of Houston's traditional neighborhoods. "The inner-loop has always been such an active real estate sales hub and growing up there exposed me to the excitement of the market from an early age," she says.
Honest and forthright, Emily delivers honesty to her clients. "I do not hold back my opinions because the truth is in the best interest of my clients." She enjoys guiding first-time buyers on a huge milestone in their lives and assisting sellers on how to make-ready their home to make a great first impression on the market. After graduation from Episcopal High School, Emily earned her degree from the University of Texas where she a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and is still an active alum. In addition, Emily loves to also volunteer with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where she has served on the Souvenir committee and now currently serving on the Breeders Greeters committee. In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling, working-out, watching college football, cooking, and spending time with her husband, Mark and their dog, Jagger.
