For nineteen years Beverly Jordan was immersed in different entities related to the building industry. She was the Membership and Marketing Director for The Greater Houston Builders Association, employed by Suncoast Post Tension Company and associated with Stewart Title Company where she was highly successful in the business development department. While serving in these posts, she built lasting relationships with builders, developers, lenders and title companies.

Over the nineteen year period, these connections proved to be invaluable and ultimately led her to the decision of entering the world of real estate. Beverly graduated from Bauder Fashion College in Atlanta, Georgia, with a degree in Fashion Merchandise. She was born in Brundidge, Alabama, lived in Alaska and has called Houston home since 1990. Beverly believes in being hands-on in serving her community and volunteers at the Houston Food Bank and Faith Center, is Director of a Second Baptist Sunday School class, volunteers at Rescue Houston-Sex trafficking and supports Cru college ministry. She enjoys Warriors exercise, cycling and cooking.

50 Years of Excellence in Real Estate

Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty’s Broker Associate Marlene Rhoden has over 45 years of practicing real estate and more than 25 years with Martha Turner Properties. A native Houstonian, Marlene comes from a long line of Houston entrepreneurs. Her grandfather founded the Dentler Maid Potato Chips Company. Marlene received her broker’s license in 1967 and sold commercial real estate for several years but “it was not a good fit for me or women in general in those years,” she says. She moved to residential real estate, selling first in Houston and then in Fort Worth, where she developed a successful business and sold the most expensive home then listed with MLS.

Returning to Houston in the late 1970s, Marlene became a partner with commercial Realtors Benton & Gould and opened Carriage Realty, which she later operated as sales manager. In 1988, she merged the company with Martha Turner Properties now Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty. “That turned out to be a good move,” says Marlene. “It’s been a friendly association and a financial success.”

Marlene has been a member of the Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty’s Circle of Excellence for 25 years and belongs to the Hall of Fame, Pinnacle-level. She is a graduate of the Real Estate Institute (GRI), holds Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Certified Residential Broker (CRB), and Certified negotiation Expert (CNE) designations, and was named one of Houston’s top 25 Realtors by the Houston Business Journal.

Marlene attributes her success to strong spirituality and paying careful attention to each client’s special needs and individual wishes. A native Texan, Pene was born in Wichita Falls and grew up in Dallas. Her educational background includes Mary Baldwin College, The University of Texas at Austin, and Texas A&M University. A Bachelor of Arts degree awarded with honors was obtained from Texas A&M. She has one son, Roy, who practices law in Houston.
