Being a knowledgeable agent is a great asset. However, other than knowing the definition of many abbreviations, we do not have a separate language. With that said, any conversation or language we use should reflect that of a tone and verbage that we would want someone to use with us. As far as being an agent and needing to speak with a particular client, several targets of conversation can be at the top of that list. If it's a new client, then I may be speaking to them about more of their specific home buy or sell needs. Depending on where me and the client may be in a transaction, I may be speaking to them about negotiation. If needed find you a mentor agent and or role play some client to agent scenarios. I hope this helps.

Hi Devon! Are you a real estate agent? It seems you have a consumer profile. If you are a consumer and you need to speak with a realtor, just reach out to one. If you are an agent, you should talk to any clients the way you would like someone to talk to you. Always treat clients or potential clients with respect, courtesy, and kindness. Try to build rapport with them to build trust. Try to be helpful and give them information, answer their questions, address their concerns, etc. Never forget the end goal, which is to get them into a home, or help them sell their home, whatever their goal may be. Hope this helps!

Well in this career you must be a people person! A clients can treated like a best friend or family members as well. The business part will kick in once you relax and focus on the clients needs. Some clients don't talk much and some talk too much. Once you get enough clients it be very easy to talk with them. Please ask your broker for some client training this should help you in the future.

I always talk to clients like I would want to be talked to if I were in their position. If they are a first time home buyer- I overload them with details, tips, etc.- I do not assume they know anything and take the time to fully explain every step of the process. If they are a seasoned investor, they want to be talked to in an efficient, quick, productive manner. I meet clients where they are, wherever that is. I strive to give a "luxury experience" at every price point.

Openly and Honestly. If you are an agent, you need to find out and understand their goals. Once you do that, you use your professional expertise to guide them in the right direction to meet those goals. You must be up front, even if you need to tell them something they don't want to hear, but make sure they understand that you are there to help them achieve their goals. 80% of real estate (sometimes more) is problem solving. Set expectations, especially if they haven't bought or sold before. As long as you put clients first they will be happy with you. If you are new, don't hesitate to answer a question with, I'm not 100% but let me talk to a colleague and I'll find out. Learn as much as you can, partner with a mentor or a colleague that is willing to assist.

Hit me up if you need any advice,

Clients are just people who need to connect with a Realtor who is interested in helping in the process of either buying or selling a home. Clients need to know you are committed and resourceful as an agent. Explaining the process of buying or selling and giving the client a sense that you, as a professional, are going to guide them through the transaction is a good place to start.
