I'm a real-estate agent but out of practice for 3 years. How and where can I go to get back in the real-estate game?

I only went through classes so I could get connected and know the ins and outs of buying a new home for myself. I only had to take the test to get my license afterwards so I said what the hey. I loved the sensation of the hunt. I sold a few homes to some clients and now I crave the hunt. I like meeting new people and searching for them. I want to get back in the game but I don't have a clue where to start. I probably need to start back at ground zero since it's been forever since I been in the real-estate game. Any advice?

Hello Jonathan,

When I first read your question my first thought was that real estate is not a game. It was the perception that RE was a game that caused the whole mess a few years back.

But with my second cup of coffee in hand, I would strongly recommend KW as a start. I was with KW for my first five years. I really got cemented into best practices. I have attended Kaplans and Champions, both do good jobs at preparation. Good luck!

I also recommend Champions! The online/correspondence option is great and if you like going into class you can do that as well!

You will also want to research the Broker you want to hold you license. Of course there are a lot of options here and you have to find the right fit for your business. I highly recommend Keller WIlliams. The resources and support they offer for new agents are amazing! Email me if you want more information! darbygrimmett@kwrealty.com

Visit or Call Champions School of Real Estate. Rita's school offers day, evening, weekend, and online courses to meet your schedule. You can visit their website online. If you call, a counselor can walk you through exactly what you need to do to get your license active. I highly recommend Champions for all of your licensing requirements. They also offer MCE, SAE, and Designation classes. They also have several campus' to choose from!

You have several options.
The Texas Association of Realtors also offers high quality pre-licensing courses

Or
There are several real estate schools in the Houston area:
Champions School of Real Estate
http://www.championsschool.com
Spenser's School of Real Estate
http://spencersschool.com

These are just a few suggestions for schools.

To find out the license requirements go the TX Real Estate Commission's website.

I wish you much success.
