I have a lake front house in Flamingo Island Dr 77459 TX, available in May where it is self-contained with internet inclusive and provision of utilities, most suitable for expatriates such as Japanese expatriates. Is there any suggestion on how to market the house for renting to expatriates. Thank you!

Hi! I’ve specialized in International Oil and Gas Relocation for 10 years. The expats I’ve worked with definitely like to enjoy a spacious home and enjoy beautiful scenery and a yard they can enjoy all year - in many other countries they don’t have this luxury. Is this house already listed or rented?

Hire a Realtor with the know-how and skills for effectively marketing your unique property to the widest market of possible tenants. This could include local and international marketing. Some Realtors specialize in unique luxury homes and/or international real estate. To find an agent with the skills you need for effectively marketing your unique home look for a Realtor who holds designations such as the CRS(Certified Residential Specialist), and/or ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative), and/or CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist, and/or MCNE (Master Certified negotiations Expert), and others. Realtors with designations and certifications have invested time and money into taking the extra step to gain higher education and have invested in sharpening their brokerage skills to better serve their clients. Realtors with designations and certifications also network and associate with like-minded Realtors which could result in a better transaction experience for all parties involved. I hope this helps you.

Hi Ray,

While it’s not hard to find a renter for your property on your own, hiring a Realtor who knows the area may bring you more benefits and make the process easier and faster. A Realtor will have tools to market your property and the skills required to do so. A Realtor will also be able to “vet” your prospective renters to ensure you’re getting prospects who can afford the rent in the area, not to mention ensure all lease paperwork is filled out correctly and protects both parties- the landlord and the tenant. That service won’t cost you a lot of money but may potentially save you a lot of both money and trouble.

Wishing you best of luck,
