How can I find out if a property is in a flood zone or not? Thank you!

The lender determines whether the homeowner/buyer will be required to have flood insurance. Though there are flood plain maps the lender will make the final decision as to whether the homeowner/buyer will need to purchase flood insurance. An insurance company would be a great advocate and give you an indication as to whether it is likely that the mortgage company will require it. One of the many TAR member benefits is My Smart Move tenant screening. Log into TexasRealEstate.com and look under the Member Benefits section for this and all our benefit partners. With My Smart Move landlords (or Realtors) create an account, and prospective tenants are sent an email notification to have their credit checked etc. The tenant pays for the credit/background check on the site with a cc. The results are emailed back to the landlord(or Realtor). It's fast and convenience. Plus, no more need for collecting an application fee since it is paid online. I love it because it is so easy.

Agents, my buyer bought a house listed 2752 sft and seller showed us the appraisal report before we submitted the offer, but now our appraisal report showed 2646 sft, and county record is 2625sft. Even though the house is appraised, my buyer still feel bothered with 106 sft difference, and wondering if he buys the house now, and sells it later, which sft number should he use? Thank you! BTW, is 106 sft difference considered as normal?

Always choose school considering your job location and of course your house budget. I live in South Katy with three kids. KISD is super and housing is very affordable here. I love the community here. Spring Branch is very good, but with more expensive homes. Fortbend ISD is very good too,so it really depends on various factors. You can always check school rating on HAR.

Hi Jenyfer,Active means the property is available on the market now, and you can schedule showing with your agent, but always ask your agent to check the status before you schedule, some houses have already got multiple offers and won't allow any showings, but the status still shows" ACTIVE".
