One should always contact the city for tax records on that particular address. They are public records so anyone can ask for it. Second it might be a foreclosed home, and the lenders might have had a auction or took over the title to sell it as a Bank Repo" commonly known as REO, Real Estate Owned. Than it might have gone to a REO listing agent like myself to have it cleaned and have done any repairs needed to market it for the best net to the lender. I work with Fannie Mae and HUD properties like those.
