Hello Richard, I feel this question was directed toward me. I grew up in 77040 and went to Jersey village High School, and my parents on a home there, which I visit often. I understand the area "like the back of my hand", as they say. While most people will tell you the median price is between 220k-250k. A more detailed insight will show that homes in the area have steadily increased in value. The homes in this area are zoned to great schools, which is important to families leaving the city for suburbs and as such, depending on upkeep and upgrades can fetch much higher prices. Also, the homes in 77040 have more and more been utilized as investment properties, mostly as rentals, to facilitate the increasing number of families moving to the area in search of low crime neighborhoods and great schools. So there are some gems available for the entrepreneur, and there are some amazing neighborhoods that cater to the upper class. If you'd like to talk more about how to market your Home properly to maximize profitability, or need more info for investment...call me @ 713-805-6549, or email me @ www.maverickhoustonrealestate.com Just click the tab in the upper right corner to email.

I would be happy to tell you, but no matter the zip code, homes can vary in price by many thousands depending on the neighborhood, schools, condition of the home, external factors such as roads, trains, planes, crime rate, age of home, upgrades, etc. Zwillow hasn’t been in the homes or neighborhoods and are rarely correct.

Richard,

There are currently 62 active listings in your zip code with an average listing price of $287,993.00. But all of these homes are unique. Some have more bedrooms than others, square footages of lots and dwellings vary from home to home. The only way to get a clear picture of what your home or the type of home you are looking for is to put an agent to work for you. If you are looking for a home, it will not cost you anything. I tried to provide the best response given the way you worded your question. You should reach out to a realtor as your question to go over a more specific picture of the more specific home you are trying to price. Good luck.

So glad you asked Richard! The sale price of homes listed range from $175K to $270K. The average days on the market were in the range of 25 days. The market is beginning to pick up now that the holidays are over. Our inventory is still low and we are looking for great listings to market. But be warned - you must be ready to move! With sales happening in 25 days or so waiting to find your next home till yours sells is really not an option. So get those closets organized, those windows sparkling and minor repairs your house may need done and let's get started! I'm at your service when you are ready! #MartiP

Hi Richard,

As of Feb, 2019 156 homes sold in the 77040 zip code (Jersey Village/Northwest Houston) over the last 6 months. The price ranges go from $90,000 to $375,000. The average home sold was a 3/2/2 1985 home around 2,000 sqft. It took about 40 days to get a contract and sold around $205,000.

Of course, looking for opinions on prices for a particular home, you would look a little closer to the subject, say a neighborhood. And you would try to pick out 3-6 recent sales that are close comparables in relation to age, size, number of bedrooms, sqft, etc. Use a Realtor as they have the information you're looking for. Sale prices are not posted in the public record. Let us know if we can help you.

I can tell you that I used to live in that zipcode from 2009 - 2013. I got approx $75 /sq foot when I sold. Today, it's closer to $90/sq. foot in the same neighborhood. If you can deal with 290 traffic, it's a very good overall location for the price.
