He was Chair of the HAR Governmental Advisory Group for 2016 and 2017, and served as a Region 14 Trustee for the Texas Association of REALTORS® Political Action Committee (TREPAC) from 2016 to 2019. Ray was on the Executive Board of Texas REALTORS® from 2018 to 2019, and was Chair of the Texas REALTORS® YPN Group in 2020. In 2021, Ray served as the Chair of the NAR Business Issues Policy Committee.
In 2012, Ray was recognized by HAR's NRG (now YPN) as one of the 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in real estate.
