    Oftentimes, people ask me how it is I made my career in Real Estate.

    Prior to beginning my career in Real Estate I was in technology sales, specifically selling Technology Training to large corporations and then IT Consulting for small and medium-sized businesses. This proved to be a very good fit for me but after the fall of Enron followed by 9/11, the industry shifted dramatically as more and more companies facing financial hardships decided these services would have to be put on hold. It seemed as though I was watching the caboose of a train moving further and further down the tracks and no matter how fast I ran, I could not catch up to the train.

    This left me seeking a new career in 2003. First, I considered pursuing my passion – Porsches. I love them. I personally have had the privilege of owning two; the first was a 1994 944 and the second a 2000 Boxster. I loved them equally and even to this day find myself pining for the 944. The idea of building a career selling these beauties really appealed to me but I worried about selling a commodity that was so sensitive to economic changes and concluded this was not the path for me. ?

    Then, after interviewing individuals in the industry, I discovered Real Estate was a better fit for me. The first thing that inspired me was all the professional individuals I met, most of whom were so willing and eager to help budding agents, like myself, succeed as respected professionals. The second aspect about this field is that it makes full use of my consultative sales background. I find myself having to walk my clients through so many different and unique challenges. And finally, no matter what the economy is doing, there's always movement in Real Estate.

    After working in this industry two years, I was able to establish my own brokerage and kept it for 10 years before deciding to join Boulevard Realty. As my journey continued, I became involved in various organizations and served on a few boards. And finally, I designed and built my own house.

    I would say that the most important lesson my journey has taught me is how important it is to be heard. And because being heard is so important to me, I make sure I hear my clients. My clients, whether single, married, or partnered, can benefit from my experience as well as my resources. The result becomes a partnership where my clients feel empowered throughout the home selling and buying process.

    Since my journey continues, I will continue to draw from my broad experience and expertise to exceed the results you expect while giving you the care you deserve, no matter who you are.     PERSONAL BACKGROUND

    Hello and thank you for finding my HAR webpage!
    My name is Susan Kwok Annoura. As you can see from my name, I have a very culturally diverse background. I was born and raised in the U.S. (Susan) but my parents are from Hong Kong (Kwok) and Taiwan (mom), and my husband is from Japan (Annoura). I am tri-lingual English, Mandarin, and Japanese. Through an exchange program with Baylor University, I spent my junior year abroad at Seinan Gakuin Daigaku, and upon graduation, I decided to move permanently to Fukuoka, Japan. While in Japan, I was a radio personality on Love FM for nine years, hosting several popular programs including the Top 40 Countdown. I married a professional athlete and after the birth of our second son, we decided to move back to the United States, to my hometown of Houston, TX.

    PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND

    I have always been an avid fan and practitioner of real estate investment. When we moved back to Houston, I decided to combine my knowledge of the city and its suburbs, my gift of gab (from working on the radio), my ability to speak other languages, and my passion of helping others, to pursue a career in real estate. I worked two years at the busiest real estate company in Chinatown, during which time, I sold close to $10 million in residential and commercial real estate throughout Texas. With the growing number of Japanese companies bringing in new employees, I decided to get my broker's license and open my own brokerage in January 2010.

    Fast forward to 2023, Annoura Realty Group has seven licensed agents, four who speak fluent Japanese, and one who can speak fluent Mandarin. We specialize in serving international clients relocate to Houston- buying, leasing, apartment locating. We have also found a special niche working with investors, helping them solid investment properties, finding qualified tenants, then managing their assets. In 2015, our team handled over 200 transactions, including a commercial transaction to bring Japanese supermarket SEIWA MARKET to West Houston. Our listings are priced aggressively, marketed thoroughly, and sold quickly. The greatest satisfaction of my job is knowing that my clients are happy with my performance, that I have served them to the best of my ability, and that they can confidently refer my team to our next client.

    PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS & AFFILIATIONS

    I continuously challenge myself to always be on the leading edge of technology and education and have obtained several designations recognized by the National Association of Realtors including GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyer's Representative), and CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist). I am also a certified SMP (Social Media Pro), MCNE (Master Certified Negotiation Expert), and in 2017 obtained the highest commercial real estate designation, CCIM. In 2009, I was selected to participate in the intensive yearlong Texas Realtors Leadership Program alongside 21 other talented and successful Houston realtors. In 2010, I was awarded the Top 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate Award. In 2023, I served as the Global Chair for Texas Realtors and I am an honorary member of the Houston Association of Realtors Global Advisory Group, where I served as Chairperson in 2018. Most recently, I was elected to the Executive Board of Directors for the Houston Association of Realtors, where in 2024 I will serve as Secretary/Treasurer of our 51,000 members. As for affiliations, I am a founding member of the Houston Chapter of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA). On the volunteer front, I serve as a Division Vice Chairman for the International Committee of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

    OTHER INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT ME

    Both of my parents worked for NASA, so I grew up in the Clear Lake area of Houston. After graduating from Clear Lake High School, I attended Baylor University for my undergraduate studies, graduating Cum Laude with a B.A. Business degree and Certification in Asian Studies. While living in Fukuoka, I obtained my Masters of Education in Curriculum and Technology from Temple University Japan, and taught English communication at several Japanese universities and corporations. My husband, Koh, was a professional KEIRIN racer and at one point was on Japan's national cycling team. He still races track cycling in the masters category and is the 2022 sprint world champion in his age bracket! We have three sons, Joe, Ty,and Zachary.
