I moved to the Historic Old Sixth Ward in 1989, and have lived within a 5 mile radius ever since. Being a fourth generation native Houstonian, my work is also my passion! My great grandfather settled in the Houston Heights around 1918, operating a small dental office out of his home. One of Deena Everest's first jobs was supporting NASA Shuttle engineers. While at NASA she was chosen to be a test subject on NASA's Vomit Comet, a KC-135 military aircraft that flies in a way to give astronauts and volunteers like Deena a chance to experience zero gravity. Deena is not afraid to take managed risks thinking outside of the box, even while vomiting at 35,000 feet.
