(Prior to her real estate career, Mary was an executive secretary, floral and party designer, and free-lance commercial artist.) She has been married to her husband, an attorney for 53 years and is the mother of four children, all college graduates living in Houston. Mary has experienced first hand knowledge of Houston's private and public education on all levels--kindergarten through high school--with her own children.

    An accomplished artist, a watercolor teacher for almost 30 years and gourmet cook, Mary was editor, illustrator and cover designer of Houston's "Presbyterian Potpourri Cookbook", and illustrator and cover designer of the Houston Junior Forum's "Buffet on the Bayou". An avid and accomplished watercolor artist, Mary volunteered her time from 1986-2018 in teaching Senior Adults through the Houston Junior Forum and later the Watercolor Art Society--Houston. A leader and volunteer in her community, Mary has served on the boards of the Houston Junior Forum, Watercolor Art Society-Houston (a past president), Women of the Church at First Presbyterian Church, is past regent of her DAR chapter and a state vice-chairman of the Arts and Sculpture of Texas State DAR's American Heritage Committee.
