Native Houstonian Kate Cancelmo relishes her demanding real estate career and the diverse opportunities it presents for growth and success. Kate prides herself on going the extra mile in every transaction and providing unsurpassed client service. Her once nickname, "Can-do Cancelmo" captures that spirit to a tee.
Before becoming a Realtor, Kate worked in the investment management industry, an experience she says honed her communication skills and now helps her to be one step ahead of her clients. "There's such a sense of fulfillment when I've helped my clients gain what they set out to achieve," she says.
Kate attended West U Elementary, Lanier Middle School, and Lamar High School. From there she went to Washington & Lee University in Lexington, Virginia where she graduated with a degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. During college, Kate spent a semester abroad studying art and architecture in Paris while absorbing the culture from her French host family. Kate credits her education and upbringing for her ability to envision the potential in a house that is less than perfect. She uses her eye for architecture and interior design to suggest possibilities buyers may not have considered and to guide sellers as they prepare their homes for sale.
Kate also spent cherished summers in the Texas Hill Country at Camp Mystic. "I'm still in touch with my Mystic friends and greatly value those relationships. My growing network has taught me that you never know where your connections will take you, and I now use those resources to benefit my buyers and sellers."
Kate shares a love for the outdoors with her brother, a TCU graduate, and her parents who taught her the meaning of hard work and the importance of helping others. Kate serves as a Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Breeders Greeters Committee Member and Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation – Stewards of the Wild Houston Chapter Member. She is a parishioner at St. Anne Catholic Church, enjoys playing league tennis, cooking, and walking her Irish doodle, Rita.

As a native Houstonian, Alex Heins understands the intricacies of Houston's neighborhoods and offers her clients an exceptional commitment to finding the right home or the best buyers. Alex earned her real estate license in 2010 and has helped buyers and sellers at every price point and stage of life in neighborhoods that include West University, Southampton, Southgate, River Oaks, Highland Village, Upper Kirby, Montrose, Tanglewood, Briargrove, Briarmeadow, Memorial, Rice Military, The Heights, Timbergrove, Oak Forest and Garden Oaks.
Alex thrives when challenged and always does more than is necessary to meet her clients' goals, providing a "complete package" that doesn't stop once the sale is complete. She often advises on paint colors and other design elements, and connects clients with a choice of contractors and vendors when requested.
Almost all of Alex's sellers and buyers find her through referrals from her growing network of loyal clients. Recently, one client/homeowner said, "Alex is extremely patient. She worked with us for over two years to find the perfect house. Her knowledge and expertise of the real estate market is unmatched. She always made herself available for our questions and concerns, no matter what time of day. Without Alex, we wouldn't be in our home in West University!"
As a child, Alex sketched house plans on every piece of paper that she could find, a past time that she still enjoys today. Those childhood doodles honed her aesthetic eye and turned into a passion for architecture and art. After graduating from Lamar High School, Alex earned a degree in art history with a minor in business from the University of Arizona.
Alex grew up in West University and lives there today with her family. She and her husband, a commercial real estate broker, have a strong tradition of voluntarism. Both Heins remain active with Playworks, and Alex is also a regular volunteer at her child's school.
Outside of work, Alex enjoys spending time with her husband, daughters and extended family; entertaining good friends; and, of course, playing with the family dogs.
