After having earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida State University, I relocated to Texas and joined the booming oil and gas industry with Schlumberger. My 11 year career gave me the opportunity to travel all throughout Texas, as well as New York, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania, while creating many great and lasting relationships. These relationships have contributed to my core value in my real estate career, by teaching me to cater to different people from all areas of life. My greatest relationship started in College Station where I connected with my marvelous wife, and now years later we have two beautiful children. We enjoy spending our down time showing our daughter the world around her from walks in the woods to playing in the sand at the beach.

Emelie Mavligit brings a native Houstonian's outlook and understanding of the city and its residents to her career in real estate sales with Compass Real Estate. Growing up in West University, Emelie has a close attachment to the neighborhood and the neighborhoods of Houston proper.


Graced with an outgoing personality, Emelie is a go-getter who is at the same time extremely meticulous and organized. A previous, 10-year career in marketing, public relations and event planning honed her communications skills and gives her excellent marketing savvy and an enviable list of resources to call upon. "I am very service oriented and enjoy being a concierge for my clients," Emelie says. "I have also worked in the oil and gas industry for several years and have an excellent grasp of the economic impact any change in that sector has on the city and how it translates to the housing market."


While juggling a full work schedule, Emelie finds time to give back to the community. She volunteers for HOPE, Houston's Homeless & Orphaned Pets Endeavor, the American Cancer Society, and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center.


Emelie attended the High School for Performing and Visual Arts for dance as well as Mirabeau B. Lamar High School. She received a BA in communications, with an emphasis in public relations and marketing, from the University of Houston.

I consistently place the goals of my clients first and provide the highest level of service. I've always specialized in caring for the needs of others. Prior to my career in real estate, I worked at MD Anderson Cancer Center for over five years, and later taught middle school reading, writing, and served as a leader in Special Education for years. I credit my time in those careers to learning how to build meaningful relationships, and to honing my skills in communication. My passion for helping others continues to extend into my real estate career! I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Entertainment Business, an English Language Arts/Reading Education Certification for Grades 4-8, and a K-12 Special Education Certification. Family, caring for the elderly, and being a great example to today's youth hold a special place in my life. I am committed to making a difference in the lives of others!
