Mark E. Burroughs handles High Rise, Golf Course and prominent properties in some of Houston's finest neighborhoods. Such neighborhoods, include River Oaks, Tanglewood, West University, Royal Oaks, the Memorial Villages and the Woodlands. Marketing such properties requires knowledge of the territory and the characteristics of the area. Mark is a 4th generation Houstonian and his family has been in the real estate business since the early 1900's. Mark's great grandfather, J.W. Link, was the developer of Montrose and since then the family has been involved in Houston's real estate growth.
Mark began his business career in the late 1960's when he worked part time for his father in the insurance business before attending college. While going to college Mark obtained his insurance licenses and worked part time in the insurance business. In 1976 Mark obtained his securities broker's license and worked in the securities business for a short time until he purchased a small insurance agency. At that time Mark got his real estate license in 1977 to compliment his other business endeavors. Through the years Mark has bought and sold several insurance agencies and made numerous real estate transactions. At one point Mark was the President of a small marine insurance company which he formed with other investors and later sold. Mark retired from the insurance business in 2000 but maintains an Insurance Risk Manager's License which allows his to consult clients regarding their insurance needs. Since the early 2000's Mark has spent his time in the real estate business handling both residential and commercial clients. At times Mark has been involved in other aspects of the real estate business including, a Texas appointed arbitrator for property tax appraisal disputes and a mediator for real estate contract disputes. Negotiating is a strength that is developed and Mark has experience in the areas of real estate and insurance to make deals happen. Mark will look to find the property that meets your desires and needs.
Mark attended Texas Tech University and the University of Texas. He married his wife, Anne, in 1972 and they have 3 sons and 5 grandchildren. All were born and live in Houston as well as other members of Mark's family.
