“I'm part of a disabled/elderly community whose apt was suddenly shut down. The residents were all given section 8 vouchers. If you don't know, this system is complicated at best. I contacted multiple realtors for help. All of whom said they had experience with section 8. Sharon was not the only one who actually showed up, she came multiple days to the housing complex to individually meet with all the residents. Then she started being spectacular! She brought a printer, internet access, and supplies. She helped folks find housing, complete their applications, drove them to the apartments to take tours, printed/faxed/confirmed applications and even talked to the rental agencies for the residents. For over a month, Sharon has been in near daily , if not daily with the residents, leveraged resources to get them help and because of her first trip here 6 people got housing. By the end of her third trip, close to 20 had housing and theist of the remaining tenants had at the very least options and a plan on applying for and obtaining housing. This would be the end of the story, but Sharon did it all volunteer. She received no commission. It was just the good neighbor thing to do for Sharon. She was patient with the clients, navigated attitudes, fears and drastic differences in circumstances to give 60-120 people hope and direction when the system just dropped a bomb and gave minimal support. She is a blessing, professional and competent. With absolute limited resources and options available, Sharon FOUND what was available and hand held folks as they went through the process. We are exceptionally grateful to Sharon. After a year on the voucher system, many will be eligible to purchase low income homes/houses. And Sharon will be the first person many of of think of when that time comes! I recommend Sharon without reservation.
