And he continued to help us out even after we closed on the house. A few words to describe Calvin would be responsive, reliable, and friendly. We purchased our house earlier this year in a hot seller’s market where all buyers were trying to purchase with very few homes available on the market. The houses that caught our attention would sell as early as the next day with multiple offers and sold way over asking price. He helped us navigate this craziness and came up with multiple contract provisions to make our offer more attractive, while protecting the most critical rights as homebuyers. Since it was our first home purchase, we didn’t know the process or the market. There was one house that came out during a weekday, so we asked Calvin if we could meet to see it over the weekend. Then, Calvin went above and beyond to show us the house on the same day. Only because of this, did we find out that there was already an eager buyer, and Calvin helped us put an offer together that same night. We ended up losing, but looking back now, the house wasn’t for us. But if Calvin didn’t show it to us that night, we would have never had a chance, and we might be wondering whether we missed out on our dream house. One of the many things that we absolutely appreciated was Calvin’s quick responses. Calvin was available after late workdays or early in the morning. Whether it’s an email, text, or phone call, he was available. After we dealt with many wedding vendors with late responses and unprofessionalism, Calvin felt like a competent breath of fresh air. We hope Calvin doesn’t always have to deal with picky clients like us, but Calvin was available at all times (which was extremely helpful because my husband and I have crazy work schedules) and put our minds at ease. As first home buyers in a seller’s market, we had our fair share of heartaches and frustrations throughout the process. But Calvin guided us with professionalism and practical advice, and also with empathy to help us get over our broken hearts after losses to wealthy competitors. He was never pushy, but gave us all the information we needed to make a decision right for us. Calvin continued to help even after we closed on our house. He walked us through the tax exemptions, protesting the appraisals, and helped us connect us with the right people since we needed to furnish our new home.
