How can I post my pending listing to MLS using an amendment to listing that says we can now post online? Original listing agreement stated no to posting on mls or online per sellers request.

Question

My seller did not want the house listed on the MLS or online due to privacy issues. Now that the house is under contract and we are approaching the close date, the buyers agent asked if I could post to MLS so they get credit for the transaction. I checked with my seller and he now says he doesn't mind. Amended the listing so it shows we are allowed to post to MLS and online. However, its way past the actual listing date. How can I post to MLS without getting a fine?

Hey Brooke, Great Question. I would first discuss the change with the seller (assuming you already have),  then consult your broker or listing agent for guidance, prepare a revised listing agreement or amendment, and present it to the seller for approval. Once authorized, notify the MLS and update the listing! I hope this helps.
