Dear Alejandra,
I am glad to hear of your enthusiasm in becoming a real estate agent. It is truly an exciting career. As a sales agent, you are a renaissance professional, proficient in possessing a multitude of skill sets. It starts there my friend. Knowledge of using Microsoft 365, Publisher, Word, Outlook, Adobe, software analysis tools, creation of marketing flyers, writing effective posts, participating in groups, subscribing to all major social media platforms, answer Q&A sessions, and the list goes on. Selecting the right broker is crucial to your success. In the beginning, you will hear many people urging you to join the franchised shops you hear about, however, those shops have high overhead and a portion of those costs are passed down to the agent to keep them afloat. You must be lean and mean when starting out. The average first year income of a new agent is approximately $18,000, barely enough to sustain a decent living.
The learning curve is long and tedious. Your skill sets will determine everything. However, your personality is also a plus on how you interact with people. Ultimately, you are responsible for creating your own leads. Even though all realty shops promise you access to leads, they are not free. Training is important that is true. Where you get that training is important. We at EXP Realty train you via an online platform in addition to receiving assistance from your sponsor and mentor. The process is long, but very effective in preparing you for a successful career. Remember, everyone is going to promise you they are the best. We promise you are the BEST!
