To become a member, you should contact HAR. Once your registration is complete, you'll gain entry to the MLS systems.

Hi Kelsey, in regards to your question asking how to access the MLS with HAR as a Realtor, Go to www.har.com/joinhar This link will take you to HAR's webpage on becoming a member of HAR, with great information on the association, benefits of joining HAR, FAQs, Membership application fee, dues & schedule, a link to the online publication to the Houston Realtor magazine that you get when you become HAR member to keep us Realtors up to date on the latest real estate news, classes, business tools, and more with access to past publications. Once you become a member, I highly recommend signing up for the HAR Orientation class this will help you learn how to navigate through the MLS and all the great tools and how to use them. If you are a new agent, it can be overwhelming trying to get it all down and figuring it all out, but we all have been there and as you can see from all the agents that stepped up to answer this question, we have some great agents here happy to help when we can. Talk to your broker about classes they offer and take as many as you can, get a mentor or ask to shadow other seasoned agents as they do an open house and ask questions, look into other classes with other vendors like title companies, lenders, etc. Congrats on getting your license, and wish you all the best.

Kelsey! Great question and welcome to your new career! To access our MLS, you will first need to ensure that you are logged into your agent account on har.com by using your specific username and password. Once you are logged in, you will be looking to go to the "members only area". You may access this area by clicking the drop down menu beside your profile picture in the top right hand corner (which you should upload by the way, so people recognize you!), and clicking the "members only area" button! Now that you are in this area, you will be looking for a pink button toward the right hand side of the page entitled "Access Matrix MLS". Click that sweet pink button and BOOM, you're in and you may begin exploring the MLS! I'd also highly recommend taking the matrix course at the har campus closest to you - SUPER helpful! If you have any other questions or need any assistance, feel free to reach out anytime! codysellsproperty@gmail.com 346-412-6603

I saw this question last night and there were no responses so I started to respond but then I thought it was a trick question because I saw you were at a big brokerage so wondered how this question was posted. Sorry you haven't received guidance to answer such a fundamental question and I'm happy you were comfortable posting the question here. This forum provides realtors to ask any questions they may have. Access to the MLS should have been one of the first things you were shown at your onboarding (even without a full training on the MLS). Reading the responses I understand now that you're a new agent so welcome!! You have a lot to learn ahead of you and I wish you LOTS of success!!! Others have already replied - you need to pay your HAR membership - HAR does a lot more for us as agents, accessing the MLS is just one of the benefits to be an association member. The MLS system is called Matrix. Matrix allows you to search for homes for buyers and list homes for your sellers that then get syndicated to millions of websites across the country and beyond. Matrix is also the gateway to a lot of other functionality you'll find beneficial in your career for daily usage. Part of the HAR orientation they'll also cover Matrix 101 but there are additional classes you can take or someone in your brokerage can also walk you through the system to get you started while you await your class. good luck!

Good morning, Kelsey,I see you are a new Realtor. Congratulations and welcome to the family. Many answers here give you insights to guide you on your path to success. HAR is one of the top Associations in the country. Learn in depth how to utilize all the tools, education and services HAR has to offer each Realtor. Sign up for the Orientation class and also take the Matrix courses. If in doubt just give HAR a call and ask to be placed on the next available courses.Keller Williams, your brokerage has a fabulous reputation. Speak to your broker about your goals and where you want to be this time next year and also 5 years from now. Make a plan. Surround yourself with professionals who specialize in areas you don't know about. It's impossible to learn everything, so just pick an area and become the go to person by networking and attending different events. I just focus on Luxury and International. I don't have a clue about Commercial, Farm & Ranch, mineral rights etc. But I do have people I can reach out to receive a referral.Feel free to reach out if you have any questions and wishing you every success.

Kelsey, sounds like you are a new realtor or new to your brokerage. I remember those days, not wanting to ask questions or not knowing who to go to for answers. In my opinion, your broker should be the first person to contact for questions. You can also contact HAR, who will guide you in the right direction. Stay encouraged and motivated The current frustration will fade in time.

The fact that you don't know the answer to that worries me a bit. I'd definitely take an orientation class and Matrix 1 and 2. They are free classes offered by HAR and you need the CE hours anyways.

Your membership in HAR as a sponsored, active agent through your brokerage will provide you with a login and password. You are then able to log in to HAR.com as a Realtor instead of using it as a member of the general public. When logged in as a Realtor you have access to quite a bit of additional information and tools.
