Our house is listed with a broker but someone in his office does all the work. We bought a house before it sold and she received 1% commission on the purchase price of our new home. She has not advised us well on questions and problems.

Go to the Texas Real Estate Commission website and do a licensee search. Google "Texas Real Estate Commission" to get started.

you can go to www.trec.state.tx.us and at the top middle of the page type in their name and see if they pop up. If you don't know their legal name then use the brokers name and under the broker it will show which agents they sponsor. She doesn't have to have a license to help out the broker you hired but there are a lot of things that she can't do without a license nor could she receive a commission.
