“I moved into a home that was infested with rats. Terminix, Orkin, my neighbor across the street, as well as the guy who intsall my gas service all warned me about the infestation. Terminix told me that the home did not have an inspection done on it prior to listing it on Zillow. The landlord basically overlooked and did not care to make sure that the dwelling was a safe environment for her tenants. The landlord was more interested in making money over the overall quality of the home. The exterior of the home was beautiful but beneath all of that, the interior of the home was garbage. The landlord decided to use some mommy-pop company to seal the holes in the home which made matters worse. When the home was unsealed, it allowed the rats to leave out of the home but by sealing it, it trapped the rats inside making them become very vicious to the point where they started digging holes in the walls and were coming inside the home. There would be 5-6 rats walking around the home at a time. Terminix told me that there were over 30 rats inside the home and that if they treated the home that I, as the tenant would need to move out due to the severe toxicity of the feces in the attic. He told me that they would also need to remove all of the insulation in the home. This is something that the realtor and landlord should have know about prior to moving me in. I paid 2400 in rent and 2400 security deposit in otder to move into this home. The landlord showed no compassion nor was she empathetic to the fact that I had no other resources to move being that I had given her all my money to move in. I told her I wanted to move and she told me that she wouldn't give me any of my deposit back unless I left the home in the same condition that it was in prior to moving in as if I brought the rats into her home. She was a total jerk. She's trying to charge me for babysitting my coworker's dog . I dog sat for my coworker for 4-days while she went on a cruise and the landlord acts.....”
