About Kathy Scott

If you ask Kathy Scott to name the quality that most sets Houston apart from other major metropolitan areas in the country, her immediate reply would be “the people”. “Houstonians are notoriously open, friendly, and fun” she says. “And even though Houston is a big city, it’s also a small world – because people are so friendly, it’s amazing to see how many people know each other, or know a friend of a friend. Sooner or later, everyone has a connection!”

If you ask Kathy what made her choose a career in residential real estate, her answer will be the same – “the people”. “Buying or selling a home can be one of the biggest economic transactions in a person’s life, and assisting them as a Realtor® is not only an important service, it’s also a great way to create new relationships with wonderful people.”

Born and raised in Houston, Kathy is a third generation Houstonian and a sixth generation Texan. She attended high school at St. Agnes Academy and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Texas, where she was also inducted into The Phi Beta Kappa Society. After graduating from the Bates College of Law at the University of Houston, she began her career as a commercial real estate attorney, where she learned the values of organization, attention to detail, diligence and perseverance. She retired from the practice of law to raise three children and has been very active as a volunteer in their school activities, beginning with the early years at Briargrove Elementary School, and progressing through St. Francis Episcopal Day School, Hunters Creek Elementary School, Memorial High School and Episcopal High School.

To date, Kathy has lived “in six different Houston zip codes”, and she has represented buyers and sellers in transactions from River Oaks, the Museum area and Rice Military to Tanglewood, Briargrove and the Memorial Villages. In her free time, her favorite activity is doubles tennis. She is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Houston, a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, a past Alumnae Relations President of the Delta Delta Delta Houston Alumnae Chapter and a past President of the Tri Delta Art Show for Charity. Kathy is also a Certified Negotiation Expert and a member of the Houston Association of Realtors®, the Texas Association of Realtors®, the National Association of Realtors®, the Houston Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas and the Greenwood King Top Producers' Club.

Kathy and husband John, an attorney, and are members of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. They have three children – their older daughter is a graduate of Texas Tech University and lives in Dallas, their younger daughter is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and also lives in Dallas, and their son is a graduate of the College of Charleston and currently lives in Los Angeles.

WHAT KATHY’S PAST CLIENTS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT HER DEDICATION & COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE…

“We are so indebted to you for overseeing the home buying and selling process for us. The many inspections, paperwork, showings, etc. that you facilitated is nothing short of amazing.”

“I could trust Kathy—I had never bought a house alone before, so I was nervous, uncertain…Kathy took me through it and I trusted her so completely and I love my new house! She found the perfect house for me and my kids!”

“It was a perfect experience…She is the reason it went as well as it did!”

“The closing went smoothly and the environment was great…You were an excellent help and always on top of things.”
