I've been fortunate to grow up in Katy, Texas. My family has lived in Katy since the late 1800s. Having been raised in Katy and having seen firsthand the growth in west Houston, gives me unique knowledge and insight I can share with clients. Another benefit to clients is the priority I place on continuing my real estate education which was reinforced during the 10 years I taught in the Katy Independent School District. I strive to provide individual service and attention to meet the real estate needs of buyers and sellers. Communicating is a priority. How much should i invest in fixing things around my house befote i sell it?

A clean, well maintained home will always appeal to more buyers and sell more quickly than one with needed repairs/updates. Do some research about what homes in your area are expected to have to sell quickly - look at photos on HAR, Trulia or Zillow to help you compare features. As a general rule - fresh paint in neutral shades will add the biggest bang for the buck. Clean flooring is also a plus - clean or replace carpeting if dirty or stained before putting on the market to make the best impression with buyers.

If I'm interested in two houses, but I'm only buying one, can I submit a bid for each house?

Yes - but I would advise you to have a good realtor to help you with the process. When making an offer - you may pay seller an option fee giving you the right to opt out of purchasing the home within a specifically defined time - usually 10 days. During this time you can have inspections done and received bids for possible needed repairs. It would be within your rights to opt out of purchasing one home if you have offered on two homes at once.
