James McKee
James “Jim” McKee is a Realtor® with Compass serving The Woodlands, Conroe, Spring, Magnolia, Willis, Porter, New Caney, Kingwood, and the greater North Houston real estate market. A longtime resident of The Woodlands, Jim helps homebuyers, sellers, relocation clients, veterans and VA buyers, investors, and luxury clients make smarter real estate decisions without the high-pressure sales approach.
Jim believes real estate is complicated enough without making the relationship with your Realtor® complicated too. His approach is direct: straight answers, smart strategy, clear communication, strong negotiation, and practical problem-solving when a transaction doesn't go exactly according to plan.
Whether helping a first-time homebuyer find a home in Conroe or Spring, a family relocate to The Woodlands, a homeowner prepare and market a property for sale, or a client buy or sell a luxury home in North Houston, Jim believes the quality of representation shouldn't depend on the price point.
As a Compass Realtor®, Jim combines local North Houston market knowledge with Compass technology, digital marketing, Private Exclusives, agent networking, and a collaborative national brokerage platform. For sellers, that means developing a strategy beyond simply putting a property in the MLS and waiting for a buyer. For buyers, it means using market data, local knowledge, technology, relationships, and negotiation strategy to find opportunities and make informed decisions.
Before entering real estate, Jim served in the U.S. Army and spent years in operations and management. That experience continues to influence how he works today: prepare thoroughly, communicate clearly, solve problems quickly, and follow through.
Originally from Peoria, Illinois, Jim graduated from Illinois State University and has lived in The Woodlands since 2010. Living and working in North Houston gives him firsthand knowledge of the communities he serves and the questions buyers actually have about neighborhoods, schools, commuting, amenities, new construction, resale homes, and everyday life in the area.
Jim also works closely with a network of Compass agents, lenders, title professionals, inspectors, contractors, and other real estate professionals to help clients navigate both straightforward transactions and situations that require a little more creativity.
