In the Bahamas, you can get around by taxis, rental cars, scooters, bicycles, ferries, and local buses known as "jitneys".
Driving
In the Bahamas, people drive on the left-hand side of the road. International visitors can use their domestic license for up to three months, but they must be at least 21 years old to rent a car.
Taxis
Taxis are readily available in the Bahamas, especially in Nassau and Freeport. It's important to agree on a fare before the journey as most taxis do not have meters.
Jitneys
The local bus service, known as a jitney, is an inexpensive way to get around on the main islands.
