Elizabeth Collins

E. Elizabeth Collins is President/Owner of Kemet Properties, Inc., a full service real estate company established in 1989 with headquarters originally in Houston, Texas. In 2005 the headquarters was moved to Missouri City, Texas. Elizabeth has been actively involved in selling residential and commercial properties, property management, and negotiating office and retail leases since 1989. She also provides real estate and property tax consulting services to corporations, governmental entities, and private individuals. Before assuming ownership of Kemet Properties in 1992; she served as Vice President/COO for Elite Properties/Elite Medical Facilities Advisors; and assisted in establishing Kemet Properties while working toward her real estate broker license which she earned in 1993. Kemet Properties became Kemet Properties, Inc. after being accepted as a corporation by the State of Texas in 2001.

Elizabeth is known for her professionalism, knowledge, communication skills, negotiating skills, hard work, dedication, getting desired results, successfully addressing difficult situations diplomatically, and highly rated customer satisfaction which has resulted in a strong base of repeat and referral clients. She is an Accredited Luxury Home Specialist (ALHS), one of the first in the country to earn a Master Certified Negotiation Expert (MCNE) designation, Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS), Certified New Home Sales Professional (CSP), Short Sales and Foreclosures Resource (SFR), Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), Texas Affordable Housimg Specilist (TAHS), Certified Short Sale Negotiator (CSSN) and courses in Referral and Relocation. She received her commercial real estate education/training through CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member Institute) courses. In 2011 she completed the TAR Appraisal Review Board Determinations 30-hr Arbitrator Training.

Prior to establishing herself as a real estate professional in both residential and commercial real estate, Elizabeth enjoyed a successful career in corporate America in various management positions in the field of Information and Records Management for two major corporations over a period of twenty-four years. Her corporate career began immediately after graduation from Prairie View A & M College (now Prairie View A&M University) where she received a B.A. in Business Administration with a minor in Economics. During her corporate career she was a much sought after guest speaker nationally, and provided consulting services to the “National Archives” and “Houston Independent School District”. She received formal recognition and a monetary award for “Outstanding Management” by her employer.

Elizabeth has been a guest lecturer on such topics as real estate, time management, how to conduct an effective business meeting, and African history. She was recruited to be an adjunct professor of "Office Technology" and "Information Management Systems" by North Harris County College; and taught ancient and contemporary African history at Texas Southern University "School of Continuing Education". She is active in her community in many ways, and has served on the board of directors of community organizations (e.g. American Red Cross Greater Houston Area Chapter, Ta-Seti African Historical Society, home owners' associations, etc.), and as a member of advisory boards (e.g. Houston Community College, North Harris County College, Wa-Set Preparatory Academy, Golden Eagle Leadership Academy, and more).

For relaxation Elizabeth enjoys reading, exercising (former marathon runner), international travel, scuba diving and golf.
