De Wayne Mortensen II is a REALTOR® with Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Hometown, serving buyers and sellers throughout Brenham, Washington County, and the surrounding communities.

With more than 20 years of real estate experience, De Wayne brings a broad perspective to every transaction. His background includes residential sales, new-home construction, brokerage management, and serving as Broker of Record for a real estate franchise with more than 100 agents. He has also worked directly for one of America's largest home builders, giving him valuable insight into new construction from both the builder and buyer sides of the transaction.

Before entering real estate, De Wayne served honorably in the United States Navy as a Tactical Air Traffic Controller and Reserve Instructor. That experience helped shape the attention to detail, communication skills, and calm problem-solving approach he continues to bring to his clients today.

De Wayne believes buying or selling real estate should be understandable, well-organized, and as stress-free as possible. His role is not simply to open doors or place a sign in a yard, but to help clients understand their options, anticipate potential problems, negotiate effectively, and move confidently from the beginning of a transaction through closing.
