Choosing the best possible elementary school is critical to a child’s foundational development. In Texas, public school districts adopt curriculum standards set by the State Board of Education. When we compared Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School, which is a part of KATY ISD, with Campbell Elementary School, which is a part of KATY ISD, we noted a slight difference in ratings.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.
It is in this area where the two schools differ. Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and 25% closing performance gaps. Except for Science, Campbell Elementary School earned one out of seven distinctions.
Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School. Based on household incomes, Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 76.02% compared to 17.40% at Campbell Elementary School.
In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School has 340 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 44.80% of student population. Campbell Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 515 or about 34.73% of student population.
In addition, Jack & Sharon Rhoads Elementary School has 44.14% bilingual students, 2.37% are in the gifted and talented program, while 15.68% are in the special education program. This stacks up against Campbell Elementary School with 33.85% bilingual students, 6.14% gifted and talented students and 13.96% students in the special education program.
