Memorial High School performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A (90-100) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. At Mcallen High School, Hispanics make up 92.08% of student population, followed by Whites or Caucasians (5.58%), African Americans (0.75%), Asians (0.75%), Two or More Races (0.75%) and Native Americans (0.09%).

Based on household incomes, Memorial High School’s economically disadvantaged students is higher at 64.75% compared to 63.21% at Mcallen High School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Memorial High School has a significantly higher number of English Language Learners comprising 32.72% of its student population compared to 28.58% at Mcallen High School.
