Both schools garnered only two distinction designations or awards for performance. For Shaw Elementary School these are in Mathematics and 25% closing performance gaps while Lawrence Elementary School secured in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Shaw Elementary School. They make up for 59.21% of student population, followed by African Americans (27.33%), Whites or Caucasians (8.28%), Two or More Races (2.90%), Asians (2.07%) and Native Americans (0.21%).

Based on household incomes, the Shaw Elementary School’s economically disadvantaged students is slightly lower at 80.33% compared to 89.44% at Lawrence Elementary School.
