Bright Acad earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 77 in student achievement, 75 in school progress and 75 in closing performance gaps. It scored 76 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Spears Elementary School earned a State accountability rating of B. The school posted 86 in student achievement, 83 in school progress, 76 in closing performance gaps and 83 overall in post-secondary readiness.

A distinction designation acknowledges districts and campuses for outstanding achievement based on the outcomes of several performance indicators. Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

Bright Acad's two out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA) and Science. Spears Elementary School did not earn any distinction.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Hispanics comprise the biggest group at Bright Acad. They make up for 32.30% of student population, followed by African Americans (24.43%), Whites or Caucasians (19.67%), Asians (14.70%), Two or More Races (8.49%) and Native Americans (0.41%).

The student population at Spears Elementary School is also predominantly by Asians at 32.88%, followed by Whites or Caucasians (28.70%), Hispanics (19.73%), African Americans (9.27%), Two or More Races (8.82%) and Native Americans (0.60%).

Based on household incomes, Bright Acad’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 50.31% compared to 22.27% at Spears Elementary School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Bright Acad has 141 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 29.19% of student population. Spears Elementary School has significantly more ELLs at 165 or about 24.66% of student population.

Bright Acad’s bilingual students comprise 23.60%, gifted and talented students, 3.93%, while 17.60% are in the special education program. Spears Elementary School bilingual students comprise 24.36%, gifted and talented students, 3.89%, and 17.34% are in the special education program.
