Cypress Grove Intermediate earned a State accountability rating of C (70-79) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. Scores are scaled from 0 to 100 to align with letter grades. The school scored 80 in student achievement, 79 in school progress and 78 in closing performance gaps. It scored 79 overall in post-secondary readiness, a broad term that refers to student preparedness to undertake multiple pathways after graduation, or specifically, their preparedness for college education.

On the other hand, Pecan Trail Intermediate performed excellent to earn a State accountability rating of A. The school posted 91 in student achievement, 90 in school progress, 87 in closing performance gaps and 90 overall in post-secondary readiness.

Distinction designations are awarded for achievement in several areas and are based on performance relative to a group of campuses of similar type, size, grade span, and student demographics.

It is in this area where the two schools differ. Except for with 25% student progress, Cypress Grove Intermediate earned one out of seven distinctions. Pecan Trail Intermediate's two out of seven distinctions are in Science and with 25% student progress.

At Pecan Trail Intermediate, Whites or Caucasians are the biggest group, comprising 60.21% of student population, followed by Hispanics (15.79%), Asians (10.53%), African Americans (10.27%), Two or More Races (2.82%) and Native Americans (0.26%).

Based on household incomes, Cypress Grove Intermediate’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 44.24% compared to 25.16% at Pecan Trail Intermediate.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, Cypress Grove Intermediate has 29 English Language Learners or ELLS or about 5.22% of student population. Pecan Trail Intermediate has more ELLs at 39 or about 5.01% of student population.

In addition, Cypress Grove Intermediate has 4.86% bilingual students, 14.21% are in the gifted and talented program, while 25.54% are in the special education program.
