College Station Middle School earned a State accountability rating of B (80-89) based on three domains: student achievement, school progress and closing the gaps. It is in this area where the two schools differ. College Station Middle School’s two out of seven distinctions are in Science and Social Studies. Wellborn Middle School's four out of seven distinctions are in Reading/English Language Arts (ELA), Science, Social Studies and post-secondary.

Based on Racial/Ethnic Groups, Whites or Caucasians comprise the biggest group at College Station Middle School. They make up for 50.86% of student population, followed by Hispanics (24.91%), African Americans (13.40%), Asians (6.70%), Two or More Races (2.58%) and Native Americans (0.86%).

At Wellborn Middle School, Whites or Caucasians are the biggest group, comprising 57.18% of student population, followed by Hispanics (17.32%), African Americans (12.22%), Asians (10.20%) and Two or More Races (2.73%). There is no Native Americans student in the school.

Based on household incomes, College Station Middle School’s economically disadvantaged students is significantly higher at 46.39% compared to 24.32% at Wellborn Middle School.

In terms of Limited English Proficiency (LEP), a term used in the United States that refers to a person who is not fluent in the English Language, mainly because it is not their native language, College Station Middle School has a higher number of English Language Learners comprising 8.76% of its student population compared to 5.46% at Wellborn Middle School.
