That is what i would have done also. You did right by calling the agent and opening the lb to register your key and then shutting the door after seeing the dog and purse inside and closing the lb. It might have been tempting to enter through the garage door, in which case you would have had no registration of your time of entry or exit. I am assuming you are not using a combo lb, in which case your entry and exit would not be registered. It sounds like there was a lack of communication somewhere between the agent and owner, a ball was just dropped somewhere, or the owner just forgot. In any event, you listened to your gut and your gut is usually right. I would have high-tailed it outta there, lol!
