I'm Houston area realtor and real estate maven Lynda Carouthers. I operate under Switch Realtors and will soon be "closing" in on 10 years of professional experience in real estate. While I specialize in real estate investing, where I'm currently helping to manage investors' portfolios with upward of 22 investment properties, my more than 15 years of prior experience in social services makes me passionate about serving families, and helping them find and cultivate their home. With respect to my expertise in residential real estate, I concentrate intently on teaching and journeying my clients through the nuances of the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8), VA home loans and helping new homeowners confidently navigate the home buying process for the first time. Having been trained as an Architect my career evolved into Interior Design. I combined both and took the next logical step, buying and selling Real Estate. I enrich the Real Estate transaction with interior design advice, functionality of the home, best use of space and overall aesthetics. As a buyer and seller of real estate through the years, and with experience from international relocations to Norway, the UK, Russia and the UAE, I have personal insight from challenging moves to places that were new to me and my family. I've been a Realtor since 1996 and have worked with buyers and sellers. In 2017 I obtained my broker's license. I'm a real believer in training and education. The Texas Real Estate Commission requires agents to take 30 hours of continuing education every 24 months. I probably get in a minimum of 30 hours every 12 months. The real estate industry is constantly changing...the best way to keep up is to find and take training classes as often as possible...while still finding time to work!

I have served as a volunteer on the Professional Standards Committee with the Texas Association of Realtors since 2007 – it’s a way of giving back to the real estate community and of helping agents, including me, stay on our toes.
