I've been in love with real estate since 2004 when the house flipping shows caught my attention. I've watched almost every episode of "Flip this House" and "Property Ladder".
At that time, I started investing in real estate. I bought a few rentals and sold some houses for myself. Unfortunately, I also make a boat load of mistakes. I don't regret it though because it's made me a better real estate investor. I'm able to prevent clients from making the same mistakes I went through.
I got my real estate licence in 2014. I was only using it for investing at first. Later, I started helping friends because they were coming to me with all kinds of questions. Truthfully, I never thought I would be a regular agent. Boy, was I wrong.
I love it. My best clients are first time home buyers. The joy they experience buying their house takes me back to when I bought my first house. Plus, love touring homes. That never gets old.

Melissa “Mel” Aljoe was born in Singapore and raised in Sugar Land, Texas, where she graduated from Elkins High School. She attended Texas A & M University, College Station, TX, and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in History and a Masters in Education. She moved to Houston and spent the next seven years as a high school history teacher and volleyball and golf coach.
