How It Works?
Why is HAR changing its MLS service structure to offer the new MLS Platinum package?
  • Recent NAR policy changes prohibit local MLSs from including certain services in their Standard MLS service offering.

  • NAR’s policy specifically excludes from Standard MLS "services that are not substantially related to the function of a MLS," as defined by NAR. The services impacted by this policy change include the Client Experience Rating, agent websites and other advertising related tools developed by HAR.

  • These changes will allow HAR to provide enhanced MLS services for those subscribers who choose to pay for them, while continuing to provide an affordable plan for those who choose not to pay for enhanced, optional services.

What services are included in MLS Standard Services?
  • MLS Standard services include full access to Tempo MLS, Fusion MLS, Realist Tax, HAR.com mobile apps and a number of other services at the same low cost you are paying today.

How much will MLS Standard services cost and how will the billing process work?
  • All MLS subscribers will maintain a MLS Standard subscription at the current rate of $20/month billed quarterly or annually in advance ($85/month for broker of record).

  • The billing process for MLS Standard will not change and will continue for all MLS subscribers as it is today with no further action needed.

  • Those subscribers who wish to add MLS Platinum to their subscription will need to subscribe separately to MLS Platinum at an annual rate of $129/year. (see FAQs below)

What services are included in MLS Platinum Services?
  • MLS Platinum services are optional, “add-on” services for those already subscribed to MLS Standard.

  • Agents who choose to add the optional MLS Platinum services at an additional charge of $129 per year will receive a set of HAR-developed tools designed to help market you and your brand to consumers. Included are Client Experience Rating (agent ratings), agent websites, the new HAR.com “agent branded” mobile app and many more.

  • To purchase services comparable to MLS Platinum from third parties would cost more than $1,800 per year, so you still receive a great value.

How much will MLS Platinum cost and how will the billing process work?
  • All MLS subscribers currently have access to the services included in MLS Platinum at no additional cost until July 1, 2016.

  • You may go ahead and sign up for MLS Platinum HERE to avoid any service interruption. Your credit card will not be billed until annual billing begins on July 1, 2016.

  • For those agents who subscribe to MLS Platinum after July 1, 2016, you will be billed annually for MLS Platinum services at $129 per year based on the date you sign up.

  • The estimated annual cost of similar products included exceeds $1,800 per year. MLS Platinum is priced at $129 per year which represents an excellent value.

Can I pay for MLS Platinum services quarterly?
  • No. In order to keep the price of MLS Platinum as low as possible, HAR will be using an online order and payment system which will not impact our existing billing process. The estimated annual cost of similar products included exceeds $1,800 per year. MLS Platinum is priced at $129 per year which represents an excellent value.

When can I sign up for MLS Platinum?

How to apply?
How do I sign up for MLS Platinum?
  • MLS subscribers will be able to sign up for MLS Platinum services beginning this summer, by logging into the HAR.com Member Only Portal and accessing the “MLS” menu.

  • Beginning this summer, all MLS subscribers will have an opportunity to sign up for MLS Platinum services with the annual billing for MLS Platinum to begin on July 1, 2016.

  • MLS subscribers who choose to sign up for MLS Platinum after July 1, 2016 will be billed annually based on the date of sign up.

  • Subscribers who do not elect to subscribe to MLS Platinum services will continue on the MLS Standard plan at the current MLS fee rate and need take no further action.

Why don’t you just lower our fees?
  • The price of $20 per month for MLS Standard covers those services being provided in the MLS Standard package.

  • The price for MLS Standard is among the lowest in the nation and is nearly 50% less than the national average for MLS fees.

  • Even at that lower cost, HAR Standard provides more tools and services than subscribers receive through other MLSs.

Why are you charging $129 per year for MLS Platinum?
  • NAR advised us that we must charge at least 50% more for MLS Platinum than what we were charging for MLS Standard currently. That is how we arrived at the $129 cost.

  • Note that we have not raised fees since 1997 and continued to roll out new tools and services without increasing the fees.

  • Any new tools or services that HAR develops are expected to be covered by this new cost structure, so we do not anticipate that the MLS Platinum price would increase, even as we roll out new tools.

What are you going to do with the additional revenue this will generate?
  • The revenue generated from MLS Platinum fees will be rolled back into product development for the benefit of our subscribers.

  • It will allow us to continue to deliver products and services that will help you be more successful in your business.
