Hi Ruth, That would be great but not possible on HAR. As a rule of thumb, newer homes have higher MUD taxes than older homes. Indeed MUD need more money at the initial stages of development. MUD tax tend to decrease significantly after 5 years. Best francois@cozy-homes.com
There isn't a very good searching function to do this that is accurate, I would just check each property individually - its extremely time consuming but the best way to make sure you have the most accurate information.
Ruth, I'm going to piggy back on what Cody said. It is difficult to determine whether a property is located in a MUD, however, your realtor will easily be able to pull the MUD information, how much is allotted and how much has been paid out. Its also important to remember that a MUD isn't a "forever" thing, so finding a property in a MUD that is almost mature would an option as well. If you would like more info I'd be more than happy to assist you with your property search! I can be contacted at 713-907-0641 or email at alex@interohouston.com
Ruth, great question, but unfortunately there is not. If you have a REALTOR you may ask him/her to run a search for you, because they can take properties with MUD disclosures out. However even on the REALTOR side it is difficult, because many search results come up that are in areas with MUD taxes due to the fact that the listing agent accidentally forgot to add the MUD disclosure in the listing. It is not impossible, it's just tedious work to try and find, but I'd be more than happy to help you if you'd like.
