With October in full effect, it’s time to start thinking about picking that perfect pumpkin. Mostly open through Halloween, there are plenty of patches in the Houston area where families can feel festive. Check out some of the pumkin carving ideas I've pinned on Pinterest.

Blessington Farms

Every Saturday‚ 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. at Blessington Farms. Most pumpkin varieties are $0.50 per pound. Farm Funland cost is $10 per person (18 mos. and under free). Giant slides‚ Animal Encounters‚ Hay Maze‚ Barrel Train rides and MUCH MORE. www.blessingtonfarms.com

 

Dewberry Farm

Saturdays 10 a.m. to dusk and Sundays noon to dusk at FM 362 and Morrison Road in Brookshire. Explore the 8-acre corn maze‚ pick pumpkins‚ see 500-plus lighted pumpkins‚ ride DewVille Express Railroad to Christmas Tree Forest‚ climb 26 feet up to Sliiide Mountain‚ and more‚ plus a special area just for the little visitors. $12 general admission for ages 3-54; $9 seniors; 2 and under are admitted free. www.DewberryFarm.com.

 

Old Time Christmas Tree Farm

On Saturdays and Sundays in October from 10am to 7pm you can visit the PUMPKIN PATCH at The Old Time Christmas Tree Farm. Pick out the perfect pumpkin to purchase and take home! Take pictures of your kids in the pumpkin patch. Admission $5.00/person (Age 2 and up). www.oldtimechristmastree.com

 

Old MacDonald's Farm

Enjoy fall fun with a pumpkin patch, petting zoo, pony rides, playgrounds, a train ride and other fun! Admission $10/person.
