"Hard work will get you where you want to be," says Charis Smith. Charis learned that life lesson at an early age when, as one of three concurrent jobs, she worked as a steamer in women's apparel at the Dallas Market Center. She stuck with it and worked her way up, becoming a full-time manager and assistant buyer. "Looking back, I love that I started that way," she says. "It taught me all sides of the business and I was able and willing to do more than the average manager." After 10 years in the retail industry, Charis decided to transition into real estate sales, a career change that capitalized on her marketing and customer service expertise. "I chose to work at Greenwood King Properties because it's a local, woman-owned business with a 'team-player' atmosphere that I very much respect." Patience is one of Charis's virtues and being of service to others gives her joy and purpose. She sources her business through a network of personal and professional contacts, social media, hand-written letters, and neighborhood flyers. She especially enjoys helping first-time home buyers find the right neighborhood with the right house, and growing families to sell their home and find "the next step up." Born in Houston, Charis attended Memorial High School and earned a degree in business management from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Bill D. As a Business Broker, he worked with owners in the appraisal, sale and acquisition of closely held businesses in retail, distributing, manufacturing, and service industries. He holds a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator's license with the Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending. With more than 22 years experience as a Residential Mortgage Loan Originator, he originates mortgages on a referral basis.

Bill's primary interests are focused around helping his clients in the divestiture and acquisition of residential real estate. Bill also has extensive knowledge of every aspect of homebuilding and quality construction. A decided plus for his clients, he recently utilized these skills for himself when he acted as the General Contractor for construction of his own family home in Spring Valley Village.

Although he helps clients buy and sell property throughout the Greater Houston area, he focuses much of his attention to neighborhoods in the Memorial, Spring Branch, west Houston, Sugar Land and Katy areas.

On a personal level, Bill stays very involved in the community and active in professional organizations. A few of his relationships have come from organizations such as The Greater Houston Builders Association, State Securities Commission, Texas Department of Savings and Mortgage Lending, Houston Association of Realtors®, Texas Association of Business Brokers, Toastmasters International, Boy Scout Leader Troop #673 Chaplain, St. Cecilia Catholic Church volunteer and has served 17 years as Oktoberfest cooking team captain, Member Knights of Columbus Council 13357.

Born and raised in Kerrville, Texas, Bill has been a resident of Houston since 1979. He is married and the father of a 35 year-old son and a 33 year-old daughter.

Bill has added the 1031 Tax Deferred Property Exchange program as an area of specialty for investors who desire to redeploy money that would have gone to pay capital gain taxes on the sale of investment property. Native Houstonian Taylor Throckmorton Jackson offers solid real estate knowledge, a wealth of contacts, valuable community volunteer experience, and a warm, outgoing personality that puts her clients at ease and inspires confidence. Taylor attended St. Francis Episcopal Day School and Episcopal High School. She earned a bachelor's degree in corporate communications with a minor in business at the University of Texas at Austin and an MBA from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University. As an MBA candidate, Taylor participated in the Jones Graduate School Energy/Finance Summit, Student Council, and Entrepreneurship Club.

When not working, voluntarism plays an important role in Taylor's life. She serves on the Houston Rodeo Parade Committee, the Episcopal High School Alumni Board, and the St. Francis Episcopal Day School Alumni Board, and is an active alumna of Kappa Alpha Theta. Taylor and her husband, a commercial Realtor®, enjoy spending time with their family and friends, and she loves reading, golfing, and traveling.
