My wife and I are relocating to Houston in mid-June, but need to plan our move starting now (end of March, beginning of April). We have to secure a cross-country moving truck and make sure we find a place that works with our schedule and accommodates our family - all from thousands of miles away. Is there a way to work with a rental age or plan a weekend of open houses? We can visit once before moving, but our time is highly limited!

Years ago my family and I made the same decision to move from the mid west to Houston, so I understand what it is like to make a move like this. What do the different statuses mean

If you are referring to the different Statutes on the property listings the answer is as follows:\n\nActive - are listings that are available for sale that do not currently have a offer that has been accepted by the seller of the property. \n\nOption Pending - is a for property that is for sell that has received an offer that the seller has accepted but agreed to give the buyer a set number of days to inspect and review the property before being full committed to proceed with the purchase. Can I look for properties in San Francisco and Tiburon California through HAR?

HAR stands for Houston Association of Realtors®, and is primarily used to list and search for Property in the Houston, TX and surrounding areas. While you can often times find property in neighboring cities in east Texas, it unlikely you would be able to search property in Northern California. If you need help searching for property in MLS your best option would be to connect with an Realtor that works in your desired location. However a Google search for the MLS that is used for northern Cali suggested that MLSlistings.com could be a resource to accomplish what you are looking to do.

I am looking at homes in the 77077 zip code and I am a little concerned that the homes may be over valued and I may end up in a position where I start out with negative equity.

These taxes come in the form of a percentage where many different councils, boards and legislators decide the amount of money that is needed to cover expenses for the coming year. However, market values can change as often as monthly, depending on comparable sales in your neighborhood.
