A real estate agent helped an apartment rental client to secure and after the moved in, the company refused to pay.\nWhat would be best real estate business, practice for apartment companies who refused to pay a lease commission for over nine Months. Should you report to TREC or what’s the best solution to collect your commission?

First, I would confirm that the client did put the agent down on the guest card. If not it may be very unlikely that the agent will get paid, especially if agent wasn\'t present with the client when visiting the property. If all that is true and the apartment has records of the agent representing the client, they should pay but it may take a while so as others have said, persistence is key here. I have always gone with my clients when visiting apartments and even so, waited 6+ months for the commission to be sent to my broker.

My fiancé is being relocated for work and we need a place in two weeks. We are more than willing to pay an extra deposit.

It is definitely possible, but harder. A good landlord will take your entire application into consideration and I always advise my prospective tenants to include an explanation for any red flags on their application. If you have a good reason for the eviction and can show that you are in good standing a landlord might listen to the truth in your situation and accept your application.
