Ray Allison began his legendary real estate career in the early 1980s, buying, selling, and managing properties alongside family and close friends. Originally from Beaumont, Texas, Ray spent part of his upbringing in the Bahamas before settling in Houston after graduating from the prestigious Texas A&M University. Over the decades, Ray has gained deep experience in virtually every facet of commercial and residential real estate.
In the early 1990s, Ray launched Ray Allison, Realtors®, a boutique firm located in the Montrose area of Houston. In 2003, he partnered with longtime friend and fellow top-producing Realtor® Mike Spear to form AllisonSpear.com, Realtors®, based in Houston’s prestigious River Oaks area. The firm was later acquired by Prudential Gary Greene Realtors®, where Ray went on to manage the Inner Loop office. He was later tapped by the company’s partners to lead the launch and development of their Commercial Real Estate Division, a role he held for many years with success.
In 2024, Ray proudly returned to his original roots under his own banner: Ray Allison, Realtors®.
Today, Ray continues to specialize in commercial sales, leasing and landlord and tenant representation, having relocated more than 20 Gary Greene offices throughout Houston. He remains active in brokerage management, direct sales, and agent development, and is always ready to assist clients with strategic real estate guidance—commercial directly or residential by referral to the perfect agent.
Ray is known for his approachable style, sharp insight, and unwavering dedication. His enthusiasm, integrity, and humor are trademarks of his client relationships.
Outside of real estate, Ray is a committed community supporter. He has served as Board Chair of the Downtown YMCA, President of the Plumeria Society of America, and sponsor of various Houston-based athletic events and charitable organizations. Many weekends and for many years he has served as a Lector in Mass at the Co-Cathedral.
In his spare time, Ray enjoys cooking, gardening, running and biking along the bayou, and restoring and driving his antique vehicles.
