Are there any inspection companies that also checks for plumbing issues?

The reason I’m asking is because with older homes, especially built on land with a lot of older trees and foundation issues, a lot of times the plumbing can be affected or damaged during repairs. I feel that this service should be added because it could definitely save homebuyers from having to pay from $10,000 - $20,000 after closing.

Hi Courtney,
A standard home inspection covers the home's plumbing systems, but it sounds like you are asking about the home's sewer line. This type of inspection is called a Sewer Scope Inspection. A trained inspector will run a specialized camera, which feeds images and video to a monitor through the home's drainpipe, to examine the sewer lines and other underground pipes for any problems. This type of inspection is an add-on and typically costs $150-300.
